About the Program
The Latino Social Work Coalition SCHOLARS Program is a nine-month scholarship and mentorship initiative supporting bilingual Latino/x/e MSW, DSW, and PhD students facing financial barriers while pursuing their education in New York City. The program is designed for graduate-level students committed to serving low-income and underserved communities and seeking both financial relief and professional growth.

Running from September through May, the SCHOLARS Program combines scholarship funding with personalized mentorship, professional development, and networking opportunities. Scholars participate in structured mentorship and skill-building experiences that strengthen leadership, confidence, and career readiness.
Guided by experienced social work professionals, participants gain practical tools, fresh perspectives, and strategies to successfully navigate the profession after graduation. By investing in both immediate support and long-term development, the SCHOLARS Program equips scholars to thrive academically and professionally while preparing them to create lasting impact in the communities they serve.
