'CORE' SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

The Latino Social Work Coalition CORE SCHOLARS Program is geared towards 2nd or 3rd year MSW bilingual and Latino/x/e Students with significant economic need in the NYC Area. Social work students with a passion for working in low-income and underserved communities are encouraged to apply. This program is designed to provide financial scholarships as well as guide recipients towards their professional goals and to open space for networking opportunities. Over the course of nine months of mentorship and support from September 2023 to May 2024, students will acquire new skills that will enhance their ability to navigate their employability post graduation and beyond. The participants will be mentored by experts in the field who will provide new insight and strategies to create meaningful impact within their communities.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

Scholarship recipients receive one (1) scholarship totaling between $500 - $1500 for the 2023-2024 school year.

Monthly sessions with experts in the field from September 2023 to April 2024, including workshops, featured speakers, and intentional group discussion

Opportunities to connect with the Coalition's networks, as well as public servants and non-profit leaders. Access to the Coalition's calendar of events for ongoing professional development, networking, and informal peer-to-peer mentoring.
